Aik Ng Phong

Entering university at the age of 16 years old, Aik Phong graduated with an Engineering Degree (Electrical, concentration in Systems Design) from one of Canada’s distinguished engineering colleges, Carleton University, located in the heart of Ottawa.
After returning to Singapore, Aik-Phong joined a local internet start-up company called SilkRoute Ventures as a sales & marketing executive, and was part of the pioneering team that helped built its web development and IT consultancy business from its infancy to be one of Singapore’s premier internet solutions provider. Aik-Phong quickly rose to become a manager, country manager, director and later as the VP of business development in yearly succession, culminating in PCCW’s investment of US$28M into SilkRoute Ventures. Whilst working at SilkRoute Ventures, Aik-Phong founded and created a reverse auction business called Collective Juice that became one of five shortlisted finalists nominated for the Best B2C website during the year 2000 Internet World Asia Awards. He subsequently joined Lycos Asia (a JV between SingTel & Terra Lycos) as Regional Business Development Director and spearheaded the portal’s first wireless/mobile applications on the web.
Ever the entrepreneur, he subsequently started a distribution business in essential oils & aromatherapy, and personally grew this business to over 1,000 agents across South East Asia, achieving sales of S$2 million in fewer than 3 years. This was when his passion for sales training, coaching and personal development started to take root. He’s ability to recruit, train and motivate distributors to peak sales performance was noticed by the parent company Shiang Series Pte Ltd, and was awarded a top speaker award for his contribution and dedication to the training and development of distributors.
Because of his passion and drive, Aik-Phong has been interviewed and covered by Asian Wall Street Journal, Channel News Asia, Straits Times, C|Net and has given presentations to Singapore Management University, IBM, HP, National University of Singapore, amongst others. He is currently a Director of Client Development for Ingenio Pte Ltd overseeing client acquisition and retention strategies for Ingenio’s new product developments and is also a trainer for the company’s programs and courses.
Outside of work, Aik-Phong is an accomplished athlete and he has won numerous medals in international & regional Fencing competitions, including a bronze medal win in South East Asian (SEA) Games.
